REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE

Biodiversity

More farmers and landowners are recognizing the benefits of increasing plant diversity across their farms. This can include using more diverse crop rotations, planting cover crops, adding legumes or native species to pastures, establishing pollinator plantings or buffer strips, and using other conservation practices. Greater plant diversity, especially when combined with year-round plant cover, can help improve soil health. It also supports beneficial insects, pollinators, songbirds, and other wildlife. Integrating livestock into cropping systems or managing grazing in ways that encourage diverse pasture species can further improve overall farm biodiversity and resilience.
